I am a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

I have enjoyed working in both clinical and clinical research posts (NHS and University) since qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist at the University of Liverpool in 2004 and have been working in private practice in recent years.

I provide psychological therapy, specialist psychological assessments (including medico-legal assessments) and training. Appointments are offered in person or online, depending on your preference.

I am joined by colleagues who provide medico-legal psychological assessments and related work. We are all experienced Clinical Psychologists and are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). We are Chartered Psychologists and Associate Fellows of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

The services provided fall into three main areas:

Psychological Therapy

I provide Psychological Therapy for adults requesting help with managing emotional and psychological experiences such as anxiety, stress, trauma, burnout, grief, low mood, and those whose problems relate to a history of difficult experiences in childhood. Emotional experience is seen in the context of their life and as an understandable response to challenges they are facing and experiences they have had. Often people will be dealing with stressful situations, longstanding pressures, life transitions, loss, or health conditions. An area of specialism is Clinical Health Psychology, helping people whose psychological difficulties relate to dealing with physical illness or injury.

I hold psychological therapy clinics at Spire Murrayfield Hospital on the Wirral and in central Liverpool. I also offer online appointments. People are sometimes referred to me by their GP or by another clinician involved in their care. I accept referrals from Clatterbridge Private Clinics on the Wirral and in Liverpool. I also accept self referrals.

I am registered with several health insurance companies including AXA-PPP, Aviva, BUPA, Cigna, WPA and Vitality Health. If you are with an insurer not mentioned here, please contact us as it is usually possible for me to be recognised by another insurer without any undue delay.

Medico-legal Psychological assessments

I, along with colleagues, provide specialist psychological assessments for the Court relating to personal injury and clinical negligence cases. Clinics are across the north west of England.

We appreciate the needs of the solicitors and agencies who instruct us, the people who attend for assessment and our duty to the Court. We provide an efficient and professional service; appointments are within four to six weeks of instruction and reports are completed within ten working days following the assessment.

Training

We provide training on topics within clinical health psychology, such as emotional reactions to cancer, and breaking bad news.

We routinely collect feedback from those who access our services to ensure we provide the best for those we work with. We regularly collate feedback to ensure the services we provide are helpful and effective.
